The Plastic Waste Problem
We Can and We Must Do Better

Plastic recycling is a crucial way to reduce the use of raw materials, energy consumption, and pollution caused by plastic production. Many different types of plastics can be recycled, including polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), and polypropylene (PP). These plastics are commonly found in bottles, containers, packaging materials, and textiles.

Recycling plastic typically involves:
Collecting waste plastic.
Sorting it by type.
Melting it down to mould it into new products.
Plastic recycling can be done through various methods, such as mechanical recycling, chemical recycling, and energy recovery.
Many organisations are working to increase post industrial plastic recycling rates and develop new technologies to make recycling more efficient. Despite these efforts, however, the rate of even post consumer plastic recycling still needs to be higher compared to the amount of plastic produced and consumed worldwide.
As an active plastic recycling company, we strongly believe that we must allow recyclers in every nook and corner of the world to recycle plastics affordably and effectively whereby it will involve converting plastic waste into usable plastics.

Burning plastic is generally considered harmful to the environment and human health. When plastic is burned, it produces several toxic chemicals, including carbon monoxide, and many more. These chemicals can be harmful to people and animals when they are inhaled or ingested, and they can also contaminate the soil and water supply.

In addition to releasing toxic chemicals, burning plastic releases greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, which contribute to climate change.
As a plastic recycling company , CY Group strongly believes that it is more environmentally friendly to recycle plastic or dispose of it in a landfill rather than burning it. Recycling post consumer plastic conserves the resources used to make new plastic and reduces the amount of waste in landfills, while dumps can be designed to minimise the environmental impacts of waste.
To avoid this, CY Group takes responsibility also as post-consumer recycled plastic suppliers in correctly processing post-consumer and post-industrial waste.

79%
of a large amount of post consumer plastic is landfilled or thrown into our seas where it is damaging the ecosystems
When post consumer plastic waste is not correctly disposed of, it can end up in the environment, where it can cause other forms of pollution. It is essential to properly manage plastic waste to minimise its environmental impacts and prevent pollution. This can be done through measures such as recycling post consumer plastic, proper disposal, and reducing the use of single-use plastics.

Did you know that plastics can take between 20 and 500 years to deteriorate? Plastic waste may be found everywhere, from the Arctic to Antarctica. We can no longer ignore our plastic waste problems because when it ends up in the oceans, it can harm marine life and have negative impacts on ecosystems.
To address these issues, it is vital to reduce the amount of plastic we use, recycle or reuse plastic materials whenever possible. As CY Group are involved in LDPE Plastic recycling, we are dedicated to adequately manage plastic waste to minimise its impact on the environment and public health.
